We are looking for someone who is responsible, reliable, knowledgeable, and willing to continue learning and growing. This person will have strong Revit skills and be able to work on their own with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Completed at least one portion of the NCIDQ exam, working toward NCIDQ licensure.
  • Degree in interior design, or related study.
  • 3-5 Years practicing as a Junior Interior Designer, or equivalent under the oversight of a certified Interior Designer.
  • Demonstrates capacity for supporting client presentations.
  • Competent in all conventional aspects of interior design.

Accountability & Expectations

  • Accountability is to the Senior Interior Designer, Project Manager, Client, and the Project Team.
  • Ensure the most professional standards, practices, and business ethics are used on behalf of the firm.
  • Design and presentation drafting on interior design projects.
  • Advise client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, and color coordination.
  • Seeks out and develops relationships with potential clients.
  • Meets with clients, consultants, and outside vendors.
  • Maintains relationships with vendors to stay up to date with new products.
  • Not to engage in work that you are not qualified to perform successfully.
  • Scope: Moderate in size and complexity.

Project Responsibilities

Under the oversight of a Licensed Interior Designer:

  • Responsible for design and presentation drafting in Auto Cad and Revit on interior design projects, including schematic design tasks and design development.
  • Planning, design, and furnishing of interiors for all types of project typology.
  • Formulates designs that are practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes,
  • Compiles finish schedules and project drawings.
  • Assists in managing budgetary constraints for assigned projects.
  • Integrates findings with knowledge of interior design and formulates plan to meet client design requirements.
  • Defines program requirements and establishes, in coordination with Senior Interior Designer, project manager, interior design parameters based on client requirements.
  • Compiles finish schedules and project drawings.
  • Advise client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, and color coordination.
  • Confers with client, fellow designers, and architectural team to determine architectural preferences, purpose, and function of environment, budget, types of construction, equipment to be installed, and other factors that affect planning interior environments.
  • Renders design ideas in form of images/photos, drawings, or illustrations, estimates material requirements and costs, and presents design to client for approval.
  • Research and aids in the selection of interior and exterior materials.
  • Creates presentation boards, interior elevation studies, and/or renderings.
  • Meets with consultants, and outside vendors.
  • Maintains relationships with vendors to assist in maintaining competitive costs.

Staff Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced interior design associates.
  • Liaises with the Project Manager, other architects, architectural associates, and consultants.
  • Take ownership of their personal development, career growth, and desire to improve skills related to their chosen career path.
