Essential Duties & Responsibilities

In conjunction with other senior leaders, is responsible for realization of profits compatible with interests of clients and the Government Center of Expertise. Oversees Government Center of Expertise operations and activities to promote achievement of the firm’s objectives. Implements policies established by the board. Participates in creating and positioning the firm to take advantage of opportunities for growth and marketplace expansion. Ensures profitability, quality enhancement, and professional development.

Education and Experience

  • Experience: 15 years in the industry, 10 years as a licensed architect in a management role
  • License Status: Licensure required
  • Education: NAAB Accredited Professional Degree

Software Requirements

  • Basic review capability in CAD software, preferably Revit
  • 3D Modeling skills in Revit and/or Sketchup
  • Enterprise level Project Management & Financial Management software skills in a program such as Deltek Vision

Marketing

  • Represents the organization with major customers, shareholders, the financial community, and the public
  • Provides new business through contacts in his/her field
  • In cooperation with the Managing Principal, pursues client contracts, team creation, proposals, etc.
  • Provides service with community organizations and volunteers to promote the firm and provide public visibility

Business Management

  • In cooperation with Managing Principal and other firm leaders, oversees and helps direct strategies for firm policy

Financial Management

  • Reviews and understands financial reports monthly for areas and projects within their control
  • Reviews and understands firm wide financial reports at least quarterly
  • Actively ensures budget adherence within their control
  • Proactively notifies Controller and Managing Principals of potential financial concerns or windfalls

Personnel Management

  • Provides mentorship to direct reports as well as others as requested
  • Helps Managing Principal create, build, and maintain a talented and efficient team

Project Management

  • Ensure quality products are delivered that meet agreed upon firm standards
  • Oversees the Government Center of Expertise Project Managers and their progress

CRSA is committed to succession planning for current senior leadership positions, and this position is specifically designed to provide for leadership succession. No specific advancement is guaranteed, but success in this role would be one of several prerequisites for progressive advancement to the highest levels of leadership, ownership, and management in the firm.
