STEVEN CORNELL is an architectural preservationist who manages all aspects of projects with historic issues, from historic preservation and adaptive reuse to historic infill and new construction. Steve's architectural preservation work enhances the creation of place within communities and emphasizes a sustainable approach to architecture through the reuse of existing buildings. His current work includes the restoration and renovation of Ogden High School in Ogden, Utah-a 1936 Art Deco-style school, the first “million dollar” high school west of the Mississippi.
RACHEL DAVID is the Director of Sustainability at CRSA. She specializes in LEED® certification and sustainable design innovations. She is instrumental in the firm's success by bringing projects through the process of LEED® registration and certification. She shepherds all the sustainable design issues throughout the design procedure, and is integral to CRSA's integrated design processes. Most all of CRSA's projects go across Rachel's desk. Her diligence in shepherding the Swaner EcoCenter to its Platinum LEED® certification earned her the title “the Green Bulldog.”
KELLY GILLMAN A licensed landscape architect and certified planner, Kelly Gillman leads all of our work with the Utah Transit Authority and the Utah Department of Transportation. He has considerable experience working with other institutional agencies, including planning efforts at many of the local and regional higher education campuses. He has developed strong relationships with local municipalities. Kelly is a mild-mannered professional who is proficient, thorough, 100% reliable, and deceptively droll.
JOHN MCCONKIE, architect, artist, and writer, is seen as often in sandals as he is in a suit and tie. Clients appreciate his lively imagination, talent with a pencil, and eagerness to sketch ideas on the spot. John is an ardent devotee of the cultural arts, focusing on libraries, museums, visitors centers, and art centers. He also oversees CRSA's interior design projects, and special projects from Pennsylvania to California for the LDS Church.
ELIZABETH RONTINO is a caring soul who found her way to human resources by way of teaching and business management. Elizabeth makes it her job to make sure that our benefits are secure, our rights are upheld, and we enjoy our work. Long an advocate for our flexible hours, professional development, and living wages, her work passion is the creation of a cutting-edge collaborative environment for all of us at CRSA. As for her passion for play, she and her husband, Vito, are enthusiastic ballroom dancers who like to dress the part.
DAVID SCOTT'S 12 years of experience in the building industry, prior to his architectural career, enables him to find inventive solutions to problems that arise anytime from design through construction. Understanding the intricacies of construction as well as construct-ability issues helps make construction documents easy to understand-and buildings easy to build. His conflict-resolution and mediation skills and his creativity in solving complex problems create smooth-running projects. David is knowledgeable, good-natured and enormously competent-that is why he is in charge of quality control.
DAVID TRIPLETT has 25 years of experience as a project manager, with over 15 years at CRSA. He masterfully directs project teams; he coordinates the consultants; and he documents all the decisions of the project, from programming through construction. His organizational capabilities are critical, because we give him all the complicated bureaucracies to negotiate. David directs all of CRSA's design/build jobs with the military, and he manages to do so on schedule, within budget, and with a remarkably chipper attitude.
